Your story.
In your language.

French, Vietnamese, Spanish, English, and more. Tell a story in the language that feels like home, and help another generation understand it.

Keep the original voice and words.

Project Imprint supports 100 recording languages. Keep the original audio or video, its automatic transcript in the spoken language, and—for non-English recordings—a separate AI-generated English translation.

Transcription and translation run privately on our server. Translation can take longer than transcription, so the English version may appear later.

English by default. Your choice when you record.

Before recording in the full app, open Spoken language beside the speech icon. Search for a language, select it from the list, or choose automatic detection if you are unsure.

The profile owner or participating storyteller can remember a person’s preference for future recordings, including connected Storyteller uploads. A contributor can choose a language for their own recording without changing that remembered preference.

A translation you can review.

Read the original-language transcript and English translation separately. The recording contributor can correct them independently, while the original recording and automatic text remain preserved.

Languages and dialects vary in accuracy. Review names, relationships, dates, and important details. Automatic detection can misidentify short or mixed-language recordings; choosing a language is often more predictable for a short story.

The app’s buttons and instructions remain in English. For a printed book, review the chosen text and characters in the print proof.

A few more questions.

Does it translate the person’s voice into English audio?

This feature provides an English text translation alongside the original recording and transcript. It does not replace the original voice with dubbed English audio.

What if translation needs correcting?

The original recording and transcript stay available. The recording contributor can edit the English text or explicitly request a new translation.
