Before the first story.
Do I need a phone or computer to record?
After initial setup, no. The Storyteller connects directly to your home Wi-Fi. Choose your name, record, listen back, and tap Save story on its touchscreen. A Project Imprint account and the full app are needed to pair the device and manage access; a family member can help with that.
Can I listen before saving?
Yes. Listen back on the device before deciding to keep a story. You can discard a take and record again, or tap Save story when you’re ready to upload it. Saved stories are available according to your collection’s approved access.
Does it need Wi-Fi?
Yes. Wi-Fi is needed to pair the Storyteller and save recordings to Project Imprint. Setup lists nearby networks and gives you a larger landscape keyboard for the password.
Can more than one person use it?
Yes. A profile owner can connect additional living people from their Storyteller devices controls in the app. Each person chooses their own name and confirms participation. One person can also use multiple devices.
What is the 64 MB card for?
It holds the current audio take while you record and review it, including recordings up to ten minutes long. Keep the card in place until saving is confirmed. After a successful upload, the take is cleared from the device and remains in your private online collection.
Does this version record video?
This Storyteller records audio stories. You can record video stories in the full Project Imprint app using a compatible phone, tablet, or computer.
Can I choose my own story title?
Yes. Emmy creates a title after transcription, and you can edit your own story’s title in the full app. The collection owner can also edit story titles.
What happens after I pay?
PayPal returns you to an order receipt. Project Imprint checks payment directly with PayPal; a confirmed payment adds your order to our shipping list. We’ll email a receipt and contact you about shipping. Keep your ST order reference. If payment is pending, check the existing receipt before starting another checkout.
