A little looking after.
For the memories you keep.

Private AI with human oversight helps review new photos and videos before they are shared. Another way we care for the family memories you trust us to keep.

Private checks.
A thoughtful human touch.

Guardian looks for possible sensitive visual content. It supports human judgment; it cannot understand every family context or guarantee that it will catch everything.

Family stories deserve a little looking after. Meet Imprint Guardian, our private AI with human oversight, helping review new photos and videos before they are shared. These checks run on our own system, keeping your family’s media private.

What happens when you upload?

  1. A private pause. New photos and videos wait before they can appear in the family collection, shared-code playback or printed books.
  2. A check on our own system. Guardian checks images and sampled video frames for possible nudity, sexual content and graphic violence. Family media is not sent to an outside AI service for these checks.
  3. Human oversight. Authorized reviewers can review the media and its context, then approve or reject it. The person uploading sees its review status.

A little extra care while Guardian finds its feet. Right now, we’re evaluating Imprint Guardian’s private AI checks, with our human reviewers personally double-checking every new photo and video before it’s shared. Our goal is to let lower-risk uploads through automatically, while keeping human review for flagged or uncertain results. Think of this pilot as a careful double-check before that next step. Automatic approval isn’t enabled yet.

Private AI means private processing.

Guardian’s checks run on Imprint’s private system. Your family’s photographs and videos are not used to train public AI models. Only authorized reviewers can open media for moderation review; the review queue does not automatically reveal images.

This is separate from the people you invite into a collection. Guardian does not add family members, change your sharing choices or open a collection to the public. Read about collection privacy, QR playback and optional printing.

A flag is a request for context.

A family photograph can tell a story that a detector does not understand. Breastfeeding, childbirth, medical care and historical photographs can need context. An automated flag is not an accusation and does not automatically mean a photograph is prohibited.

Guardian does not automatically delete files or penalize accounts. If a check fails or cannot finish, the upload stays held for review.

What Guardian can—and cannot—check.

The current checks cover new photos and videos, including uploaded profile images and attached cover artwork. Ordinary audio-only recordings are outside visual moderation. Existing uploads are not silently rescanned.

AI can miss content or raise a false alarm. Video checks examine selected frames rather than every moment, so brief scenes can be missed. Guardian cannot determine someone’s age, identity or consent, or establish whether content is lawful. It complements your recording permissions and sharing choices.

Waiting for a review—or disagree with a decision?

A waiting upload is not a failed upload. Its media stays unavailable until an reviewer approves it. Review is currently manual, so approval may not be immediate.

If something seems stuck or a decision needs another look, use Help in the app to send a review request, or contact help@project-imprint.com. Tell us which upload you mean; you do not need to email a copy of your private media. An authorized reviewer can review the context and reconsider the decision.

A few more questions.

Will someone look at every image forever?

Every new visual upload requires reviewer approval during this pilot. Our direction is private AI with human oversight: after evaluation, lower-risk uploads may be approved automatically while flagged or uncertain uploads go to a person. That automatic-approval phase is not enabled yet.

Can my family see an upload while it is waiting?

The media, including its thumbnail and playback, stays unavailable until approval. A collection may show its review status. Pending media cannot be included in book printing.

Does the shield guarantee that an upload is safe?

No. The shield identifies Imprint Guardian; it is not a certification. Automated checks and human review can both miss things. Permissions and thoughtful sharing still matter.
