Your memories.
Your say.
Family memories deserve thoughtful handling. Project Imprint gives you choices about collection access, recording, AI features, and playback sharing.
Collections have approved members.
A collection is available to its owner and approved family contributors. Knowing someone’s name or scanning a code does not automatically add a person to their collection.
The steward controls invitations and can require a further review before access is granted. Permission to join a collection is separate from the storyteller’s permission to be recorded.
Private checks before sharing.
Imprint Guardian checks new photos and videos on our private server for possible nudity, sexual content and graphic violence. During this first pilot, authorized reviewers review new visual uploads before family sharing. Pending media stays unavailable for playback, thumbnails and book printing.
Automated flags can be wrong and video sampling can miss brief scenes. Nothing is automatically deleted. Existing uploads are not silently rescanned. Meet Imprint Guardian and learn how review works.
Original recordings stay distinct.
Your original audio and video are kept alongside transcripts and other text. Automatic transcripts and translations can contain mistakes, so review important details.
Story transcription and translation run on our private server. Family stories are not used to train public AI models. Optional Portrait voice recreation has separate permission and sample-review controls; ordinary family access does not grant that permission.
A printed code has its own sharing choice.
Book and keepsake QR codes require family sign-in by default. Allowing anyone with a code to play a single recording is a separate choice, with a permission acknowledgement.
A code never opens the rest of the collection or grants membership. You can disable a code, but it cannot recall recordings someone has already downloaded.
QR playback requires internet access and the recording, code, and service to remain available.
You decide what leaves the collection.
A downloaded PDF, printed book, or keepsake can be seen by the people you give it to. A printed photograph or caption cannot be recalled through an access change in the app.
If you order a book, you approve the interior and cover PDFs for Lulu’s file checks and printing. The selected book words, images, and any playback codes appear in those PDFs; original audio and video are not sent to the printer. Order and delivery details are shared with the payment and printing providers as part of the purchase.
Reminders contain general suggestions and a link. They do not include private recordings or transcripts. A child’s name is included only when you choose that reminder option.
Questions deserve a human answer.
Contact help@project-imprint.com with questions about family access, a playback code, or your account. This page explains the service’s main privacy controls; individual app features explain their choices at the point you use them.
A few more questions.
Can someone scan a gift tag and see the whole collection?
No. The code opens one recording, subject to the access choice made for that code.
Does joining a family collection allow personal voice recreation?
No. Optional Portrait voice recreation requires its own permission, an explicitly chosen voice reference, and sample review.
