Keep the moments, too.
A song, a school play, a treasured photograph. Moments keeps audio, video and photos alongside a person's stories, without transcribing them or asking AI to name them.
Add a moment
- Open a person's Collection and choose Moments.
- Choose audio, video or photo, select your file and give it a title. A date and short description are optional.
- Confirm you have permission to save and share it, then choose Save moment. Keep the page open until saving finishes.
Collection members can view moments. The contributor or collection owner can edit details and manage playback codes. Editing details leaves the original media intact.
Supported files
Photos: JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 8 MB and 20 megapixels. Audio: MP3, M4A, WAV, Ogg, FLAC or AAC, up to 100 MB and 60 minutes. Video: H.264 MP4 or WebM, up to 250 MB and 30 minutes. A collection can hold up to 100 moments and 2 GB of uploaded moment media. Photos are displayed with location and other embedded metadata removed.
Play from a QR code
Choose QR codes on a moment. Family sign-in is the default and requires existing collection access. Anyone with the code requires explicit permission and lets a recipient play this single moment without an account. It never opens the rest of the collection.
Save the link or download the QR image when creating it. You can disable a code later, which stops playback from every copy, including a printed book. A shared or downloaded recording cannot be recalled.
Add an appendix to a book
Collection owners can choose up to 40 moments under Appendix · Moments & keepsakes in the storybook builder. Arrange them, edit their book titles and descriptions, and optionally add QR playback. Photos and video thumbnails appear in the appendix. Changes there affect the book only. Save the draft and update the preview before printing.
Printed books and exported PDFs can be read by anyone you give them to. Sending a book to Lulu includes its selected images, captions and printed QR links; original audio and video files are not sent to the printer.
Dates from photographs
When you choose a photograph, Imprint checks locally for its original capture date in JPEG, PNG or WebP EXIF metadata. A suggestion is never applied until you choose Use this date; check the camera’s date and correct it if needed. Modified-file dates and scan/digitization dates are not used as the original date. If no readable date exists, enter a date or era yourself, or leave it blank. HEIC date metadata is not currently read.
The Moments screen can show oldest exact dates first or newest uploads first. Undated and approximate dates follow the dated items. The book builder lists Moments by date and offers Sort appendix by date; your existing draft’s order changes only when you choose that option. Each Moment’s date is included in its appendix entry.
