Their story starts here.
In Your library, choose Start a baby book +. Create a new collection or select an existing living loved-one profile you own. You can start late and add earlier memories whenever you like.
A few arrival details
For a new collection, enter the child’s name and your relationship. Nickname, birth date and time, weight, length, birthplace, recorded sex, birth type, family names and an arrival recollection are all optional. The owner can edit them later from Edit baby book details in the collection. Confirm you are a parent or guardian, or have their permission to manage it. This does not create a child’s account or claim the child’s own participation consent.
Use a collection your family already has
Select the existing profile instead of creating a duplicate. Your existing stories and family access stay in place. Shared collections can be opened from setup; only their owner can enable or edit baby-book details. If a relative started it and it is not in your library, ask them for a family invitation.
A little illustration that grows with them
Setup starts with a bottle and rattle. If you enter a birth date, the decorative artwork changes for their age: toys, creative play, books, exploration and later chapters. A leaf is added on each birthday through age 18. A small copy also appears beside the portrait or initial on baby-book library cards, including shared baby books. Other profile cards keep their usual layout. The illustration is chosen locally from calendar age; it does not assess their development or send birth details to AI. It updates when the dialog or collection is opened. You can leave the date blank and keep the original illustration.
A first picture
Choose a photo, take one with your camera, or continue without one. Camera access begins only after you choose Take a photo and stops when you capture, cancel or close it. Photos are resized before upload; your original stays on your device. When a chosen JPEG, PNG or WebP has a readable original capture date, the browser suggests it. Choose Use this date after checking it, or enter a different date. The photo’s date is separate from the child’s birth date; neither is changed automatically. Missing or unsupported metadata (including HEIC capture dates) can be entered manually. A saved picture becomes a private Moment in this collection, available for the optional book appendix. Removing a selected, unsaved photo does not remove an earlier saved Moment.
If a photo upload fails, the saved profile and birth details are retained. Retry with the same selected photo, or finish without it. Do not create another profile to retry. If another window edits the arrival details, keep your text to copy across, reload the saved version and review before saving again.
Keep their memories coming
The collection opens with an arrival prompt. Choose Tell an arrival story to record your voice; it remains attributed to you as a contributor’s recollection. Use Stories, Seeds and Moments for later memories, photographs and clips. The child’s collection is private to its owner and approved family contributors.
Choose Weekly reminders, or select the reminder-settings option during setup, to open your adult account’s existing reminder controls. Verify your contact details, select a schedule and channels, and save your opt-in. Starting a baby book does not enable reminders. In Remind me to, choose a brief weekly update for this child. Baby-book choices include collections you own or have approved family access to. The reminder suggests an update and perhaps a photo, then links to the chosen collection after sign-in. Each child can have a separate day, time and delivery choice, with their own collection link. Select the name option to include the child’s name in their reminder. Birth details and media stay out of messages. Save each child’s reminder separately; your general story reminder stays independent. Age-specific prompts and a combined weekly entry are still being developed.
A book when you are ready
The collection owner can use Create a storybook to select recorded stories and add Moments in an optional appendix. Arrival-form details currently appear in the collection and are not automatically inserted into a printed book. Annual draft assembly and milestone suggestions are future additions. Printing always requires reviewing a proof and approving payment; baby-book setup never starts a purchase or subscription.
Every leaf, a story.
